Snowman Art

Today we talked about warm and cool colours.  We used watercolours to paint a background then used sticky labels to make our snowmen.  We also tried to have our snowmen look like they were facing different directions and having different expressions.

Increasing Patterns

We have moved on from repeating patterns.  We are now working on increasing patterns.  We worked on creating our own increasing patterns.  We then took pictures of us and our pattern and glued them in our notebook.  We also wrote the pattern rule for our patterns.  We then took a picture of our pattern and posted it to our Kidblog and wrote about it. 

Today we continued to work with repeating patterns.  We used sticky foam shapes to create our own pattern and describe the elements and attributes of our patterns.

Before Christmas we were working on repeating patterns.  We continued to work on this objective by first reviewing some of the vocabulary we use.  We also practiced changing two attributes (size, color, shape, thickness) in our patterns and then we filled in some answers about our patterns.

We also began to use our Kidblog today.  We read the story Silver Packages and are working on a reader response to it.  We wondered what would happen if the story had a different ending.
